Original composition for productions

Original scores for dance, circus and theatre

Circus, contemporary dance, theatre, movement work, ceremonies and immersive performances all need music that breathes with what’s happening on stage.

Michael wrote the 50-minute original score for Ballet Ouest de Montréal’s La Valse des invalides, shares the music credit on their multimedia Pinocchio, and collaborated on music connected to A Muse by Les 7 Doigts de la Main. He composes, arranges and records with real instruments, and is happy to work alongside choreographers and directors as the piece takes shape.

Songwriting & co-production

Songwriting and co-production

Michael works with singers, songwriters, artists and producers as a composer, co-writer, arranger, multi-instrumentalist and co-producer.

Bring him in to finish a song, rethink an arrangement, add strings and guitars, or build the production from the ground up. Years of co-writing in commercial studios taught him to follow a song where it needs to go, even when the brief changes halfway through.

Song DNA: developing your song

Every song carries something essential: a progression, a hook, a feeling you can hum in the car. Song DNA starts there.

Song DNA is a creative collaboration. Michael helps you develop an original idea, demo or chord progression into a richer, more expressive arrangement, while keeping your personal artistic identity at the centre.

Simple songs can be beautiful exactly as they are. This is about seeing how far yours could go: new harmonic colour, a section that lifts, an arrangement that gives the chorus room to breathe.

What you can bring

  • A voice memo
  • A chord progression
